TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaille Baghihai declared that Israel’s recent attacks made dialogue pointless, and argued that it was not reasonable for Washington to publicly declare his willingness to negotiate while enabling a “genocide regime” that attacks the integrity of Iranian territory on the United States.
In his remarks to Iranian media, Bagaei said Israel “crossed all the red lines of Iran,” adding that Tehran hopes all relevant countries will condemn the regime’s heinous crimes.
The spokesperson emphasized that the UN Security Council should take a clear responsibility for the issue and take serious measures to take the administration’s aggressive action as necessary mechanisms are in place.
Baghaei said, “The other side (US) did something that made dialogue pointless. At the same time, it cannot be argued that it would split responsibility and allow the genocide regime to target the integrity of Iran’s territory.”
He also said, “I don’t think the administration could have committed such a crime without US approval.”
Baghaei concluded that the Zionist regime has always tried to involve Western parties, but this time it appears to have managed to influence the diplomatic process.
On Friday, June 13, Israel launched a massive military attack on Iran’s Islamic Republic, raising serious concerns over a serious escalation of regional tensions and violations of international law amid ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Israel attacked targets of Iran’s civil nuclear facilities and housing, resulting in the deaths of dozens of civilians, senior nuclear scientists and senior military officials. Iran and the US were scheduled to attend sixth round of indirect nuclear negotiations in Oman on Sunday before the attack took place. Iran has yet to officially announce its withdrawal from talks, but it appears unlikely that Iranians will appear at the negotiation table.
