TEHRAN – Iranian President Masudo Pezeshkian has vehemently condemned the Israeli regime’s recent attack on the headquarters of Iran’s Ilibu News Channel, calling it a standout example of serious violations of international law and unlimited atrocities.
In a statement issued following the incident that occurred during live television, President Pezeschkian described the strike as a “disgraceful crime” that exposed the “real violence and savage nature of this illegal regime” to the world.
He also paid tribute to Iranian reporter Sahar Emami, who kept his calm and professional air despite the chaos. Her calm and courage, he said, is a symbol of “a country that refuses to surrender in the face of threat and violence.”
“In addition to this inhumane act,” the president added. “Mr. Mura’s brave and dignified response added yet another proud chapter to the longstanding story of Iranian resistance.”
Pezeschkian continued to praise the reporters’ actions during the live broadcast, describing her as “a symbol of the strength and resilience of ancient civilizations, against the noise of a regime with no rootless identity.”
He concluded by expressing his appreciation for the unity of the Iranian people, and praised both the country’s military and media experts for their dedication and effective response to protecting the country in both the military and intelligence fronts.
Three IRIB employees marched during the attack.
Masoumeh Azimi, who worked at the Irib Secretariat, suffered serious injuries caused by the shockwaves of the attack early on Tuesday, but news editor Nima Rajabpour was declared Martyred in the hospital hours later.
The third employee to achieve martialism in the attack was engineer Javadpour, who worked in IRIB’s IT department and was present at the IRIB News Building at the time of the attack.
Azimi, Rajabpour and Javadpour were among the employees in the building when they were attacked. The facility that houses the IRIB news and political affairs division was attacked by at least four projectiles on Monday during live news broadcasts.
