TEHRAN – A total of 370 law professors at Islamic Azad University have condemned the attacks by the US and Zionist regimes on Iran in a statement.
They emphasized that recent attacks have been carried out on independent countries, members of the United Nations. Therefore, the IRNA reported that the legitimate, proportional, deterrent response from the Islamic Republic of Iran has been proven.
“While Iran’s great nation moves on the realm of independence, progress and peace, we have witnessed one of the most offensive attacks on the international rights from the United States and the Zionist regime to kill children.
They declared that the coordinated attacks by the US and Zionist regimes violated Article 56 of the Geneva Convention, the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA), the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
These attacks, they said, are in opposition to the general regulations and fundamental principles of international humanitarian law. They added that they are clear evidence of a violation of the ruthless norms of international law.
The Zionist regime’s aggressive attacks on private centers and scientific institutions are evidence of attack crimes, crimes against humanity and offensive crimes that should be pursued and prosecuted in accordance with the International Criminal Courts Association.
According to humanitarian law regulations, those affected by these attacks are entitled to take action in relation to material and moral damages through the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Under Article 4 and 2 of the UN Charter, any threat from the use of force to the sovereignty of the country, territorial integrity, and political independence is prohibited.
In fact, this attack came from their weaknesses. The Zionist regime was defeated in an attack on Iran and was exposed to collapse. If it wasn’t military and politically stuck, the United States had not interfered in the war.
This is the first time in modern history that two nuclear forces include the US as the sole users of the atomic bomb and the Zionist regime that are not NPT members, including attacks on countries that are NPT members and boast peaceful nuclear energy. This reality undermines the validity of NPT.
“We ask the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to file an official complaint with an international authority with all legal, international and diplomatic capabilities.”
They also asked the UN, the Security Council, organisations of Islamic cooperation, the international courts, the independent government, and the awakened conscience of the world not to be silent on these aggressive measures. Instead, they should play a role in the threat to world peace and security by taking legal action, issuing resolutions and making international pursuits.
Finally, the professor stated that Iran’s Islamic Republic is an independent state. Those who attack the country and government based on their nuclear power will soon be defeated, they added.
