TEHRAN – The Tehran Times understands that Donald Trump’s claims about the incoming ceasefire between Iran and Israel are another of the US president’s lies that aimed to put pressure on Iranians.
Trump took him to social media early Tuesday to announce that both sides “completely agreed” to a ceasefire, which was effective in about 12 hours.
The president appears to be making up for a new lie to force the Iranian government to accept a ceasefire. They believe the move could embrace Iranian people with officials and challenge them domestically.
Trump had previously lied about the need for “two weeks” to decide whether to attack Iran’s nuclear sites. He also had Iran engaged in indirect consultations for two months, but he had already decided to attack Israel on the country’s nuclear, military and civilian infrastructure.
Mahadi Mohammadi, the Iranian chairman’s advisor, was one of the first to respond to the false announcement. “The US and Israel are lying. They want Iran to have security guards so they can spread tensions,” he wrote to X.
The Iran-Israel war began on June 13th. Israel launched an unprecedented attack on Iranian homebuilding and nuclear buildings while Iranians prepared to attend sixth round talks with Washington.
