Tehran – Iran says negotiations with Europe are in vain under current conditions and are urging European countries to reevaluate their actions.
During a comprehensive press conference on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeli Baghhai strongly criticized the positions taken by several European countries in support of Israeli invasions of Iran.
“Negotiations under this approach are pointless,” Baghey said. “The European government must rethink their actions if they want to take them seriously.”
He recalled the recent escalation, saying, “Our hometown, Iran, was exposed to military attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States.” He praised the unity and determination of the Iranian people in the face of these attacks, adding, “We lay lying on to celebrate the country’s most noble children, commanders, professors, scientists and others defending their country.”
“Justice must be provided to victims of chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq war.”
Baghaei marked the anniversary of the 1987 Sardasht Chemical Attack, saying that Germany and other Western countries had armed Iraq’s chemical weapons programmes. “This remains a national demand for Iranian people. It is to reveal the full truth and bring the person responsible to justice.”
He said Iran proposed a fact-finding mechanism two years ago to investigate German accomplices, and focused on Germany’s claims that the judiciary addressed the issue. “They have to provide us with the verdict papers now,” he said.
“The IAEA must not act under political pressure.”
Baghaei criticized IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who said the agency’s recent report was used as an excuse for Israel and the United States to justify military action.
He warned that the IAEA is being affected by the political agenda.
“German rhetoric is a historical shame.”
Baghaei condemned the remarks made by the German Prime Minister and the Interior Minister, calling them the “historical shame” of Germany. “Using the same rhetoric that the Hitler regime once used to justify crime is beyond dishonor,” he said.
He warned that Germany and other influential European countries are holding the EU’s credibility hostage. “They supported Saddam’s chemical weapons program at the time, and they now support Israeli attacks.”
Baghaei said that President Raisi recently spoke with his French counterpart and that talks with E3 (UK, France and Germany) are ongoing, but no final day has been set.
“All Site Hits are War Crimes – Ongoing Documents”
Iran has documented Israeli attacks as a war crime. “All targets targeting civil or military sites qualify as war crimes. A special law committee has been formed in the Presidential Office,” he said.
“IAEA double standards undermine global norms.”
Baghey has condemned the IAEA’s inaction against attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, showing other urgency, such as Ukraine. He also called Grossi’s recent interview “unacceptable” and argued that they justified their aggression.
“Our threat to embarrassing leaders”
He condemned the US threat to leaders of the Islamic Revolution and labeled Trump’s volatile policy shift on sanctions as unreliable. “These are media games, not serious diplomacy,” he said.
“Iranian troops are fully prepared and diplomatic activities.”
Baghey confirmed that Iranian troops were fully prepared to protect the country.
“We are strongly and internationally condemning Israel’s actions and demonstrating global awareness of the threat they pose.”
“UNESCO has to make a statement about its attack on academia.”
He confirmed that documents have been sent to UNESCO regarding attacks on academic sites and assassination of scholars.
“These crimes affect all countries. Silence is an accomplice,” he warned.
“U.S. detention is racially motivated.”
He criticized the arrest of Iranian citizens in the United States as racially motivated and legally unjust.
In public diplomats, he confirmed that foreign diplomats and journalists had visited Iran’s bombed locations.
“We are reevaluating our negotiation strategy.”
Baghaei said Iran is still committed to the NPT but will defend its rights. “The US has betrayed the diplomatic process. We are reassessing how discussions should go.”
“Israel’s war with athletes reflects a wider attack.”
Finally, he pointed to the deaths of 61 Iranian athletes and called for the expulsion of Israel from the Paralympics.
“This is a war with Iran’s identity itself. Our unity cannot be broken.”
