TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi on Thursday dismissed it as “fake news” and rejected a statement that Tehran’s move, which suspended cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, “eliminates the possibility of international surveillance of Iran’s nuclear program.”
In a post on X, Araqhchi said Iran “continues to commit to the NPT and its protection agreement” and accused Germany of supporting Israel in illegal attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
Following the illegal attacks on Israeli and the US on Iranian nuclear lands, Iranian parliament voted for a law that required the government to halt cooperation with the IAEA.
“In accordance with the new laws by Magillis (Congress) caused by illegal attacks on nuclear facilities by Israel and the United States, cooperation with the IAEA will be guided through Iran’s highest security board for obvious safety and security reasons,” writes Araghhi.
Under the law, IAEA inspectors will not be permitted to visit Iran’s nuclear sites without permission from the SNSC, the official IRNA news agency reported.
That was a statement on Wednesday, with the German Foreign Ministry also saying Iranian law “sends a devastating message.” In response, Arakich said that “senting a truly devastating message” to Iranians is Germany’s open support for Israeli strikes against Iran, including protected nuclear facilities.
Araguchi also said, “The refusal of commitment under the JCPOA by requesting German zero uranium enrichment is a blatant attempt to undermine diplomacy.”
Israel’s war with Iran began on June 13th, catching Iran by the off guard. Israel assassinated many top Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, on the first day of the late night strike, and attacked nuclear power plants in Fordau, Natanz and Isfahan. On June 22, the US joined Israel by bombarding three nuclear sites.
In Israel, 12 days of unprovoked illegal war with Iran killed 935 Iranians, including at least 140 women and children, and injured more than 5,640.
Iran views IAEA director Rafael Grossi as a conspiracy in the US Israeli war with Iran, and said that a report of political motivation to the IAEA Governor’s Committee served as an excuse for an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. In his report that led to the adoption of a resolution against Iran by the IAEA Committee, Grossi argued that Iran was not complying with its obligations. He raised questions that had already been answered by Iran in preparation for the 2015 nuclear agreement. This was formally referred to as the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA).
The Iranian foreign minister said “has been hit by explicit support for Germany’s explicit support for Israel’s illegal attacks, including protected nuclear sites, as “dirty work” was carried out on behalf of the West,” Press TV reported.
His mention was that German Friedrich Merz’s support of Israel’s Iranian air strikes, in an interview with ZDF broadcasters that the attack was “the dirty work that Israel does for all of us.”
“Germany also embarrassingly supported the illegal US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities that violated international law, the NPT and the UN Charter,” Aragucci explained.
“German’s explicit support for Iranian bombing erased the notion that the German regime had anything but malicious towards the Iranians.”
Iran’s foreign minister also denounced Germany for its “Nazi style” support for Israeli genocide in Gaza. He also oldened Germany by building chemical weapons on Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the 1980s and providing materials to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to use them against Iranian soldiers and civilians.
““Iranians have already been put off by support for German Nazi-style genocide in Gaza and by providing materials for chemical weapons, Saddam’s war with Iran,” he said.Araguchi insisted.
