TEHRAN – In an interview with Russian media, Iran’s Russian ambassador, Kazem Jalali, said the recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities have made the country’s determination to maintain and develop nuclear programs.
“The attack has reinforced Iran’s resolve to build a desirable future for the country. As we move towards that goal, our intellectual and scientific elites will continue to firmly defend the nuclear program as an indisputable, legitimate right,” Jalali told Tas.
The ambassador’s remarks assassinated top commanders and scientists following a 12-day war with Iran, which was sparked by an attack by the Iranian regime from June 13th. Over 1,000 Iranians were martyred in the conflict, and most of them were civilians.
The US later joined the attack, deploying large ordinance intruders and Tomahawk missiles, which were deployed against private nuclear sites in Natantz, Esfahan and Fordor.
Jalali stressed that restructuring “trust in the dialogue process” remains Tehran’s only prerequisite for resuming nuclear negotiations with Washington.
He emphasized that negotiations would not take place under aggressive Israeli attacks and denounced the US for bombing nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
“We have never left the negotiation table,” the ambassador said, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to a diplomatic solution.
He also questioned the integrity of Washington’s approach, rhetorically asking why the US would strike an Iranian nuclear site if it really sought meaningful negotiations.
