TEHRAN – Anti-Drug Police said they have seized 446 kilograms of drugs in the southeastern province of Ahmad Ali Gordalj, the commander of the border guards.
Approximately 407 kilograms of opium, 41 kilograms of heroin and 18 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from smugglers in two different operations, Mehr’s news agency reported.

Iran listed Iran’s role in the fight against drugs, saying it plays a key role in the global battle against drugs. Because of its proximity to Afghanistan, the country faces many challenges at all times.
However, anti-drug and security forces have done their best and have implemented numerous extensive projects over the years to block smugglers and their networks. The 3,800 martkyo and 12,000 others’ injuries underscore the country’s resolve in the fight against drug and drug-related crime.
DCHQ is working with government and non-governmental organizations to take a variety of measures, including implementing prevention programs, supporting addicts, and developing treatment centres.
World Drug Day, or International Day against Substance Abuse and Illegal Trafficking, aims to strengthen actions and cooperation to achieve a world free of substance abuse. This year’s World Drug Day calls for investment in prevention, including justice, education, healthcare and alternative livelihoods. This is a component of sustainable resilience.
This year’s campaign, “Break the Cycle the Cycle,” highlighted the need for coordinated, long-term action to address root causes, invest in prevention, and break the cycle of organized crime and drug trafficking by creating stronger health, education and social systems.
