TEHRAN – Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian met on Monday and met with several families affected by the recent Israeli invasion while visiting a temporary shelter centre in Tehran.
Pezeshkian spoke with families whose homes were damaged during the Israeli regime’s massive attack on Iranian cities, providing assurances that the government and all related agencies are committed to providing the necessary assistance to compensate for the losses they have suffered.
The president was accompanied by the Governor of Tehran, Mayor of Tehran, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. During his visit, he asked in-depth questions about the relief efforts he had taken up to date, and promised that the government would not leave affected families without assistance.
On the morning of June 13th, the Israeli regime launched a planned, massive military attack on Iranian soil with green light from the United States. The administration has carried out indiscriminate strikes over densely populated civilian regions, critical infrastructure, nuclear facilities and non-combatants. The result has resulted in hundreds of deaths, thousands of injuries and serious damage to Iran’s health, education and industrial sector.
In response, Iran launched True Promise III, a major counterattack targeting major Israeli forces, intelligence reporting agencies and industrial sites throughout the occupying territories. The operation was followed by an Iranian missile attack at Al Udeid Air Force Base in Qatar, a major US military facility, after the US bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities and invaded the conflict.
The escalation ultimately led to a one-sided suspension of hostility, which was declared by the Israeli regime on June 24th.
