Tehran – Iranian students are planning to participate in eight international Olympics this summer.
The first is the 55th International Physics Olympia (IPHO) for high school students. This is held annually in another country. In 2025, IPHO will be held in Paris, France from July 18th to 24th, with participation from over 80 countries.
From July 20th to 24th, Iranian students will attend the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in Quezon, Philippines.
The international language Olympiad is the third. Students challenge themselves to apply logical thinking, problem solving and creativity to decode language puzzles from various languages around the world. The 22nd IOL will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from July 20th to 27th.
Next is International Geography Olympiad (IGEO), which is scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 26th to August 1st, 2025.
The fifth is the 2025 Informatics (IOI) International Olympics, which Bolivia will host from July 27th to August 3rd.
The sixth student, Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) International Science Olympiad, is aimed at high school students and aims to develop both the powerful theoretical foundations and practical expertise in artificial intelligence. The second edition of Ioai will be held in Beijing, China from August 2nd to 9th.
According to the event’s website, the International Geoscience Olympiad (IESO) 2025 will be held at Ji’ning, China from August 7th to August 17th. The event is organized by the International Institute of Geoscience Education (IGEO) Committee, Peking University, University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Society of Seismic Society.
And finally, the International Olympics on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) is the annual competition in astronomy and astrophysics for secondary school students. The IOAA on the 18th will be held in Mumbai, India from August 11th to 21st.
Additionally, the Iranian Combination Olympiad (ICO) will be held online at the end of the summer. Irna is expected to have around 60 countries in attendance at the event.

Iranian students who attended several international Olympiades in 2024 won 10 gold medals, 10 silver medals and two bronze medals, ranking third in the world.
The US and China ranked first and second, respectively. Both South Korea and India ranked fourth, Isna reported.
The Iranian student won gold, two silver and bronze medals in the 36th IOI, ranking ninth in 96 countries. Egypt hosted the event in September 2024.
With an astonishing achievement, the Iranian student won five gold medals and ranked number one at the IOAA on the 17th, held in vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August 2024.
Five Iranian students who participated in the 54th International Physics won gold and four silver medals, improving from 17th place in 2023 to 4th place.
The 54th edition of IPHO was held in Isfahan in July 2024.
Iran won one gold medal and three silver medals at the 56th Ginkgo event held in Saudi Arabia in July. ICHO 2024 was held under the slogan “Connecting Buildings.”
Iran managed to win two gold and two silver medals at the 35th edition of the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in Astana, Kazakhstan in July 2024.
