Congress President Mohammad Baqer Qalivaf highlighted the key role of national unity in protecting Iran against future acts of aggression, particularly in light of recent Israeli-American attacks.
During a public session of Iranian parliament on Sunday, Karibah said the latest conflict further strengthened the collective sense of national identity among Iranians across the political spectrum. He argued that this unity had a serious blow to the enemy when described as a 12-day war imposed.
He suggested that the main deterrent against future attacks on the country is precisely this unity witnessed by the world.
Karibah further argued that preserving national unity should be considered a primary responsibility for all Iranians. He linked this duty to acknowledge the leadership of Ayatollah Seiyed Ali Khamenei, who described it as a unified and secure authority in times of crisis.
He also pointed out that the enemy faced the most important setback during the attack last month, suggesting that Iran’s growth potential across various domains would ultimately force him to respond to the legitimate demands of the Iranian people.
On June 13, the Israeli regime launched a surprising and provocative attack on Iran, targeting senior military commanders, nuclear experts and civilians with a clear act of attack.
In further escalation, the US took part in the conflict a week later, struggling three Iranian nuclear facilities. The attack constituted a serious violation of the UN Charter, International Humanitarian Law, and the Treaty of Nuclear Non-Proliferation (NPT), and raised international concerns over the legality of Washington’s actions.
In retaliation, Iranian troops carried out a series of coordinated operations, surprising Israel’s military status, which is sensitive across occupied Palestinian territory, and the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US military facility in West Asia.
The decisive response, which reached its peak on June 24th, effectively put an end to the joint Israeli-American attack and showed his preparations to defend Iran’s sovereignty.
“Israel is targeting Muslim unity to expand its profession.”
Karibah said the Israeli regime is pursuing a long-term strategy to destabilize and fragment Muslim countries to expand its territorial occupation.
He condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Damascus and characterized them as part of a broader pattern aimed at disarming and disintegrating the local independent state. He said such aggressive behavior was intended to pave the way for the geopolitical ambitions of the Zionist regime.
The Speaker of the Congress reiterated that Tehran firmly supports Syrian unity and territorial integrity, and emphasized consistent support for Syrian people in the face of foreign attacks and destabilizing efforts.
Karibah further said that the Zionist regime is a fundamental threat to peace, stability and national sovereignty in West Asia. He says that Tel Aviv does not respect legitimate forms of national or regional equilibrium, and can only be blocked by critical strength.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the speaker welcomed the recent moves by the Hague Group and implemented an arms embargo on Israel. He describes this decision as a bold and necessary step to accountability, suggesting that such measures could serve as an effective framework for confronting administration misconduct on the international stage.
