TEHRAN – Iranian survivors whose whole family was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Astane’s Asurafie accused the Israeli regime of deliberately targeting civilians of intellectual and scientific potential.
During a press conference held on Monday, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted Ceddy Saber, the only surviving member of the family of the late Iranian scientist Dr. Moamadreza Sedegi Saber, who lost his life during the war. “Saber’s family has made the ultimate sacrifice to Iran’s path of scientific progress,” Esmaeir Baghhai added, “The tragedy of Astane Ashrafier is one of the most horrifying crimes committed by the Zionist regime against Iranians.”
According to Saber, the Israeli military carried out two separate strikes at the family home. “My brother was a professor of mechanical engineering. My nephew was a mathematics genius. I was left to gather the ruins of my loved ones.
Describing the attack, Saber recalled that First Strike targeted his brother’s and his father-in-law’s home, causing severe burns to the scientists. “In a more brutal attack, they bombed our family home in Astane Ashrafier and killed all members of our family. Today, nothing remains in our home.”
He emphasized that the Israeli regime’s purpose is beyond targeting scientists. “Their real targets are the people of Iran,” he said. “I didn’t just hear this – I lived it.”
Saber also challenged the narratives of Western media directly. “I have to say this clearly to the media. Trump and Netanyahu lie to you. Which of these martialists was making their weapons? None. The media must honestly report this truth to the world.”
Finally, Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei said the government will pursue the issue internationally. “As an Iranian diplomatic device, we pledge to document these crimes and take all necessary steps to defend the rights of Iranian people at the global stage.”
On Tuesday, June 24th, Israel carried out an airstrike in the city of Astane Ashurafie, killing 15 civilians, including Marty professor Seeddi Gisaber.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovocative act of attack on Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
More than a week later, the United States also took part in the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites with serious violations of the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic sites across the occupying regions and Aldeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
