TEHRAN – Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian met with head of Islamic Seminary Ayatollah Alileza Alifi on Wednesday evening during an informal visit to the sacred city of QOM.
The two discussed a variety of issues, including the current state of Islamic seminaries, the role of religious scholars in shaping social development, and the need for a stronger synergy between religious institutions and political establishment.
The government’s responsibility for addressing the shortcomings of QOM infrastructure was also highlighted during the meeting.
Ayatollah Arafi highlighted the historical role of seminaries in promoting ethical and spiritual values in Iranian society, calling on the regime to support the religious system as an essential pillar of national culture.
