Tehran – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut has reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s resolve to protect national interests and rights of sovereignty within the framework of the UN Charter, international law and the Treaty on Defects on Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
He made the remarks in a phone conversation with Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani on Tuesday.
During the call, Aragut strongly condemned Israeli-American military attacks on Iran. Especially as it happened during the ongoing diplomatic process.
He urged all governments to condemn such blatant violations of international norms.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized the importance of diplomacy and the use of force must be avoided in resolving international conflicts.
On June 13, Israel launched a military attack that was not surprised and provoked by Iran, assassinating several senior military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. More than a week later, the US escalated the conflict by targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities. This has been accused Tehran of a serious violation of the UN Charter, international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Israel’s unprovoked illegal war with Iran, which lasted 12 days, killed at least 1,060 Iranians, including women and children.
