TEHRAN – Three Iranian border guards were martyred in a fierce armed conflict with terrorists during patrols at point zero on the border.
Rostami said Wednesday that first sergeant Sina Satalwand was seriously injured in the crash in Tuesday’s crash and succumbed to injuries despite immediate medical efforts.
Two other security guards – Colonel Sajjad Adib and senior officer Ali Bodagh, who were fatally wounded, marched overnight, bringing three total casualties.
Border Patrol reportedly encountered members of a terrorist group that had tried to invade Iran’s territory, and reportedly caused great losses to the extremists while repelling them and preventing them from entering.
Rostami praised the decisive action on the line of courage and duties of the guards, confirmed the names of the martialists and praised the sacrifices for national security.
