TEHRAN – On Thursday and Friday, rituals were held throughout Iran to honor their sacrifices, marking the 40th day of martialism, several Iranian military commanders and scientists in the Israeli attack on June 13th.
Deeply rooted in Iranian tradition, these events brought together families, officials and citizens from various cities to pay tribute to those who lost their lives protecting the nation from Israeli invasion.
In Tehran, the IRGC Aerospace Force held a prominent ceremony at the cultural and educational complex in Imamreza.
Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Baka Karibahu, Quds Commander Esmaeil Qaani and current commander of the IRGC Aerospace Forces Brigadi General Majid Mousavi attended the event.
The ceremony specifically honored martyrs such as former commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, former commander of the military, and General Mahmoud Bhagieri, the head of the missile force.
Mourners then gathered in Section 50 of Behesht Zahra Cemetery. There, families and officials laid flowers on the graves of these fallen heroes.
Another ceremony was held on Friday afternoon in Tehran’s Shahid Maharati district of Prophet Mohammad Mosque, honoring former IRGC chief General Hossein Salami, known as the “True Promised Commander.” Participants pay tribute to the legacy of leadership and courage, including citizens, military comrades such as current IRGC Chief Mohammad Pakpur, and officials.
At QOM, an important gathering took place at the Imam Khomeini Cultural Complex on Thursday evening.
Military spokesman Brigadier Abbas Shekalch and senior clergyman Ayatollah Mohsen Araki joined the family and residents to commemorate the martyrs of “national resistance.”
Shekalch highlighted the lasting legacy of the fallen people and highlighted its important role in protecting Iran’s sovereignty during the recent war.
In Isfahan, local officials and families participated in the ceremony at the martists’ cemetery, highlighting the community’s determination to honor the defenders.
Many other cities such as Kaldoran, Delphane, Koramabad, Sabadok, Alan, Bidgol and Maraghe also hosted the events.
The war that claimed these lives broke out on June 13th, when the Israeli regime launched a surprising attack on Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians have been killed in a coordinated operation, with several high-ranking commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians.
Among the prominent martyrs was Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagieri, the chief of staff of the army. Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC. More than 200 members of the IRGC’s aerospace force and several nuclear scientists important to Iran’s technological advances.
Iran responded with missile and drone strikes, targeting Israeli military facilities and infrastructure, and targeting infrastructure in over 22 waves as part of Operation True Promise III.
The US escalated tensions by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities, Iran’s nuclear facilities (Ford, Natanz and Isfahan) on June 22, urging Iran to act in self-defense and attack U.S. military base in Qatar.
After a 12-day war, at the request of Israel and the United States, the suspension of combat was announced on July 3rd. Iran declared a strategic victory and claimed it had hampered the enemy’s purpose.
