Tehran – Iran won two silver medals and two bronze medals at the 8th International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2025, held from July 20-29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
IEO is an annual competition for high school students around the world in the fields of economics and finance.
It aims to stimulate creative problem-solving skills and strengthen education systems of high school students interested in economics, business and finance by promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices in school curriculum and teaching methodologies around the world.
This year, 68 countries participated in IEO. Mohsen Payandeh-Peyman and Abolfazl Modir-Roosta won silver medals, while Parsa Sedaqat and Alireza Ahmadi won bronze medals, the IRNA reported.

The four Iranian students won three gold and silver medals at the 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025), ranking second in 81 countries from 3rd in 2024.
According to Pana, Siabash Pezeshpur, Ali Soleimanzadeh Kalafraudi and Ali Akbar Nourorahi won gold medals while Radin Bayani won silver medals.
Five Iranian students won silver medals at the 55th International Physics Olympics, ranking 11th in the world.
IPHO 2025, held in Paris from July 18th to 24th, attracted 440 candidates from over 90 countries.

More than 230 talented students from 15 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Armenia, Bulgaria, Nepal, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Qatar and Turkmenistan, participated in the competition.

The Iranian student won two silver medals and two bronze medals, ranking fourth at the Turkey International Mathematics Olympics (TIMO) held in Antalya from April 17-22.
Parnian Heydarian and Anusha Abdi won silver medals and the World Star Awards, while Fatemeh Mazini and Ava Dejagah won bronze medals.
