Tehran – Pakistani communities in Iran gathered at Pakistani homes to celebrate marking the country’s 79th Independence Day. Dozens of expatriates joined embassy officials and when the national anthem was played, Ambassador Mudasir published the green and white standards.
Ambassador Tipu paid tribute to Pakistan’s military and also praised the sacrifice of Pakistan’s founding father, led by Quaid-e-azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in the struggle for independence.
“Pakistan has faced multiple challenges since independence, thanks to the grace of all-powerful Allah and the dedication and hard work of the Pakistanis, continuing its transfer as a nation and having a standout position among the nation’s communities,” he said.
Addressing the Pakistan diaspora, Ambassador Tipu extended his Independence Day greeting and praised their role in strengthening Iran-Pakistan relations. He highlighted the recent successful visit of Iranian President Masudo Pezeshkian, and the two countries’ commitment to raising bilateral trade to $10 billion. He said the Pakistani community in Iran is playing an important role in achieving this goal.
The event also featured measurements of messages from the Pakistan president and prime minister. Collective prayers were then given to martyrs of the independence movement, fellow soldiers, and fellow Muslims in Palestinian and Kashmir.
