In a series of messages marking the day of the Defense Industry, Iran’s best military commander unanimously declared that the country’s military is ready to the highest level, promising to deal with attackers who are “overwhelming” than those that took place during the 12-day war with Israel.
Army Chief Amir Khatami said in a message to Attorney General Aziz Nasirzadeh, “the honorable son of the nation” would “punish malicious invaders and bring about a more overwhelming and regretful response.” He believed that, under the leadership of the Islamic Revolution, the nation’s victory in the recent conflict against the unity of the nation, and that resistance of Ali Khamenei and the Iranian people had resisted the “alliance of the bad guys’ unholiness.”
Iran and Israel fought between June 13th and June 24th. The regime launched an unprovocated attack on Iranian soil, targeting the country’s military, nuclear and civilian infrastructure. However, after Iranian missiles ran out much of the regime’s air defense arsenal and left the massive scope of Israeli cities in abolishment, Israelis were forced to seek a ceasefire through the Americans.
Reflecting the sentiment of the Army Chief, the military chief of staff, Abdulrahim Musavi, emphasized that strengthening defense and deterrent capabilities is the only way to protect the country from external threats. He said Iran’s “surprising” missile power demonstrated in the recent retaliatory strike made the enemy realize that it would be filled with “very strong slaps.”
The commander of the Islamic Revolution, commander of the general, Major General Mohammad Pakpur, strengthened this position and warned that “miscalculations by the enemy will be filled with decisive, prompt and regretful reactions.” He confirmed that its independence and comprehensive power building strategies placed Iran at the “peak of deterrent.”
The statement coincided with the major naval exercise “Sustainable Force 1404” in the North Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman. The exercise, described as a deterrent demonstration, accompanied by a wide range of naval capabilities, marked the first everyday Iranian man’s nation since the recent war. Navy surface and underground units, flight units, coast to sea to sea to sea missile sites, submarine missile sites and electronic warfare units participated, attracting great attention from Western and Israeli media.
