TEHRAN – Iran’s Youth Diplomacy Centre held a joint meeting with the Tajik delegation on Tuesday to explore the path of cooperation and highlighted the pivotal role of youth in expanding social, cultural and scientific interactions.
Both sides have marked important milestones in improving general diplomacy between the two countries, focusing on the role of youth in social development, intercultural cooperation and scientific and economic ties, Mehr’s news agency reported.
Develop a roadmap for building a map for future partnerships between youth in two countries, benefiting from the joint heritage of language, culture and civilization, expanding joint efforts between the two younger generations, leveraging collaboration of youth diplomacy as an inspirational model for regional convergence, and collaboration of youth diplomacy as an inspirational model for implementation of joint production projects, using cultures that expand cultural and cultural projects of collaboration, and even economic projects. Regional identity was one of the issues discussed.
The authorities also proposed to utilize the capabilities of both countries to establish a common market for domestic products such as crafts that create employment opportunities for young individuals and strengthen cultural and tourism ties between Iran and Tajikistan.
Artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and advanced technologies were among the other issues discussed to promote scientific relations and increase the position of both countries in the region.
Strategic priorities
In June, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut highlighted Tehran’s commitment to expand relations with Dushanbe, and emphasized that Iran considers cooperation with Tajikistan as a strategic priority.
Araguchi made a speech at a meeting with President Tajik, Emomali Ramon, at the National Palace in Dushanbe on Wednesday.
He pointed to the shared linguistic, cultural and historical ties between the two countries as a solid foundation for deepening cooperation in key areas including trade, diplomacy, education and cultural exchange.
During the meeting, Iranian diplomats conveyed the official greetings of the leaders of the Islamic Revolution to President Ali Khamenei and President Masaud Pezeshkian to President Tajik and the people.
President Ramon welcomed the visit, reflecting his feelings and described Iran-Tajikistan relations as rooted in friendship and mutual respect from centuries. He called for further efforts to support cooperation in light of current local agendas.
The two sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and exchanged opinions on expanding collaboration. They also reviewed regional developments, including the evolving situations in the Caucasus, Central Asia, Afghanistan and West Asia, and shared perspectives on mutual security concerns.
Additionally, Araghchi held consultations with Tajik’s counterpart, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, focusing on a comprehensive agenda aimed at supporting cooperation in political, economic, commercial, academic, tourism and consulate matters.
Minister Muriddin reaffirmed Tajikistan’s willingness to strengthen relations with Iran and emphasized the importance of economic and trade cooperation. He welcomed the shared political will between the leadership of the two countries and deepened the involvement of all sectors.
Iran and Tajikistan share deep cultural, linguistic and historical connections. In recent years, the two countries have significantly stimulated bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields. For example, on June 13, 2022, officials from Tajikistan and Iran convened a tourism forum to strengthen tourism collaboration between the two countries.
