President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s continued struggle against biased international scrutiny when he visited Beijing. Speaking to China Central Television (CCTV), he highlighted the unfair treatment that Iran received from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He highlighted Iran’s commitment to cooperation if it was within the scope of a fair and impartial international framework and criticised the hypocrisy of “people violating the agreement while pointing fingers in Iran.”
In response to the persistent threat of Israeli invasion, Pezeshkian repeatedly committed Iran’s devotion to peace, but firmly emphasized his ability to protect itself. He further emphasized the need to reform global governance. “We need a multilateral approach to counter unilateral injustice and injustice carried out by a regime like Israel,” Pezeshkian called for solidarity with China over the ambition of totalitarian power, warning that unfair sanctions should not undermine cooperation.
