TEHRAN – The Alborz State Court has launched a hearing for four individuals accused of spying and cooperation between the terrorist Mojahedin-e-Kalk Organisation (MKO) and the Israeli regime.
The lawsuit took place on Saturday at Court Branch 3 in two sessions, morning and afternoon.
According to Tasnim News, the trial was predominantly sided with a judge from Branch 3, with representatives from the prosecutor’s office, four defendants and their lawyers present.
Attorney General Alborz Hossein Fazeli Herikandi said the incident included a four-person spy network consisting of three men and one woman from the city of Karaj and Isfahan. He explained that the defendant was recruited through online channels with intermediaries in neighboring countries and established links with MKO and Mossad operatives.
In the early stages, the network sent sensitive site coordinates and carried out arson attacks in several cities. Fazeli Herikandi added that the defendant was later trained in the production of explosive projectiles and launchers and filming and documenting terrorist operations. In late May, he said the group was on its “major mission.”
The Attorney General noted that the suspect had been paid cryptocurrency from a foreign handler. Approximately a month before Israel’s recent attack on Iran, they reportedly constructed explosive projectiles and moved them to the launch site. However, thanks to information monitoring and quick judicial lawsuits, security forces seized projectiles and launchers before being fired. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, while the other two were later pursued and detained.
After their arrests and further investigation, the indictment was issued and the case was mentioned in the court.
The defendant faces multiple charges, including Mohalebe (armed rebellion), through intentional arson and cooperation with Israel, Mohalebe’s conspiracy, cooperation with hostile groups, conspiracy against national security and membership in anti-state organizations.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran, targeting senior military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. The US took part in the campaign on June 22nd, carrying out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear power plants.
In response, Iran launched a massive anti-aggressive counterattack, firing waves of missile and drone strikes in a surgical procedure called True Promise III. Retaliation forced Israel to declare a unilateral ceasefire on June 24th.
