Tehran – A total of 553 earthquakes in past calendar months ended on September 22, indicating a 4.2% decrease in the number of earthquakes compared to the same period last year.
The number of earthquakes has decreased by 1.5% compared to a month before July 23rd to August 22nd, the IRNA reported.
This figure was down 4.3% compared to monthly earthquake frequency in past Iranian years (March 2024 to March 2025), the IRNA reported.
Statistically, there was a 474 earthquake, smaller than 3, from August 23rd to September 22nd. Earthquakes of 69, between 3 and 4 sizes. Ten earthquakes ranging from 4 to 5 in Japan.
Of the total, two were 4.7 on the Richter scale, which occurred on September 13th and 14th in the State of Fars.
Among the states of the country, the 65-year-old Kerman had the highest number of earthquakes, followed by Khorasan Razavi and Yazd states with 63 and 42 earthquakes, respectively.
During the same period, two earthquakes struck Tehran.
According to the seismological network of the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran, a total of 6,272 earthquakes have been recorded nationwide in past calendar years (March 2024 -March 2025).
