TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has emphasized the central role of prayer in shaping both this world and the next, and called on religious communities and the pious public to utilize modern tools to promote the practice.
His remarks were delivered as a message to the 32nd National Prayer Meeting.
Khamenei described the conference as “one of the most useful gatherings in the country” and said that the day of the conference was one of the “blessed days of the year”, underscoring the unique importance of prayer among Islamic obligations. He said that when prayed with humility and heartfelt devotion, prayer brings peace to the heart, strengthens resolve, deepens faith and revives hope, which are essential qualities to guide human destiny.
Khamenei emphasized that the call to prayer appears more frequently than any other command in the Qur’an and religious texts, proclaiming the importance of the adhan (call to prayer) over any other act. He also emphasized the role of parents, teachers, peers, and daily life in fostering a lifelong commitment to prayer.
In their message, the leaders urged religious communities, clergy, and believers to treat the promotion, education, and observance of prayer as an important duty. He particularly called for the use of modern educational tools and engaging methods to explain the spiritual subtleties of prayer and emphasize the practical and spiritual needs that prayer fulfills for all Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded by expressing his gratitude to Mohammad Reza Karati for his many years of efforts to spread and popularize the practice of prayer throughout the country.
The 32nd National Prayer Conference began on Thursday morning in Rasht with the participation of Director of the Presidential Office Mohsen Haji Mirzai and Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Zahra Behrouz Azhar.
