TEHRAN – The second international event titled “Developed Iran” will be held on November 5, focusing on water, electricity and renewable energy.
It will bring together Iranian knowledge-based companies, investors and foreign ambassadors, IRNA reported.
Key topics include expanding, refurbishing and increasing the efficiency of power plants based on national capabilities, developing renewable energy and distributed generation infrastructure (small power plants), improving the efficiency of water extraction and consumption with a focus on reducing energy consumption, sustainable use of non-conventional water resources, including (highly saline wastewater and sewage), and the role of digital technologies. Technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things for energy optimization and management.
Iran to increase renewable energy power generation capacity
Iranian representatives attending the 29th session of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) underlined the country’s commitment to expanding renewable energy sources through various measures.
These include expanding solar and wind power production capacity and implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency across the residential and industrial sectors, IRNA reported.
Energy official Jafar Mohammadzadeh said that Iran plans to expand its renewable energy capacity from current levels to 7,000 megawatts by the next Iranian calendar year starting March 21, 2026.
