TEHRAN – With the support of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, Iranian knowledge-based companies will set up a pavilion at AgroExpo Uzbekistan 2025, scheduled to be held in Tashkent from November 26 to 28.
ISNA reports that the exhibition will provide an excellent platform to showcase innovative products and solutions and expand business networks.
The 19th AgroExpo Uzbekistan, one of Central Asia’s leading exhibitions, will cover a variety of areas including agricultural machinery (agricultural machinery and agricultural inputs, tractors and trailers, logistics and transportation, harvesting and post-harvest equipment, fertilizers), greenhouse horticulture (horticulture solutions, greenhouse construction companies, hydroponics, greenhouse management), irrigation technology (overhead). irrigation systems, drip irrigation, pumps, piping, irrigation accessories), primary processing (packaging and packaging materials, sorting equipment, refrigeration, printing and labeling, etc.).

Tashkent aims to strengthen science and technology ties with Tehran
In April, Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Darif Shahrukh Khojakbarovich called on Iranian universities and scientific institutions to support the development of technology and innovation in Uzbekistan, stating that face-to-face interactions between scientific officials are much more effective than diplomatic communications.
Uzbek officials made the remarks during a meeting with Farhad Yazdandost, head of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, IRNA reported.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed possibilities for developing scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
The official said cooperation could center on sharing expertise, expanding scientific cooperation among university presidents and joint funding in technology areas.
Mr. Yazdandost detailed the country’s scientific achievements and the significant increase in student numbers after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Significant growth in knowledge-based enterprises
The significant and rapid increase in the number of knowledge-based enterprises, whose number has increased by more than 200% in the past year (March 2023 to March 2024), is indicative of the country’s strong foundations in innovation and technology, and the productive atmosphere realized in line with the goal of promoting domestic production with dynamism, growth and public participation.
The current government emphasizes the quantitative and qualitative development of knowledge-based companies. The number of companies was approximately 5,000 before the inauguration of the current administration in August 2021, but now it has reached 10,000 companies with a total value of $2 billion.
