TEHRAN – The Tehran Times contacted sources after the German Foreign Ministry said in an email that Germany was not taking part in the 12-day war between Israel and Iran.
Days after the Tehran Times investigation and after the German embassy in Tehran refused to respond to the issue, Germany’s Foreign Ministry issued a response claiming that the Tehran Times report revealing that Germany had deployed troops to occupied territory during the war with Iran in June was false.
“The allegations about Germany’s involvement in the Israeli-Iranian conflict in the Tehran Times article are baseless and completely groundless,” the news agency quoted an anonymous spokesperson for the Federal Foreign Ministry as saying.
Following this response, we contacted the original source, who provided us with new information about German military personnel sent to Israel during the regime’s invasion of Iran.
According to sources, two main groups of German troops were stationed in occupied Palestine. One group consisted primarily of retired executives for financial gain. The second group was made up of active-duty junior officers who the German government had allowed to gain experience through the Iran-Israel War. Germany has not participated in a war since World War II, and is said to have concerns about its military’s capabilities in the event of a conflict with Russia.
However, this development was unforeseen, as both military groups decided that it was not worth staying in the occupied territory after Israel faced heavy Iranian missile attacks during the war.
