TEHRAN – Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, the new ambassador to Bangladesh and the first Sunni ambassador appointed under Iran’s 14th government, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and outlined the proposed agenda for his mission in Dhaka.
Mr. Araguchi wished the Ambassador every success and stressed the importance of advancing bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest. Rahimi Jahanabadi previously served two terms in Iran’s parliament and was a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.

Following this, Iran’s new ambassador to Ireland, Esshaq al-Habib, met with Mr Aragushi and announced plans to strengthen diplomatic engagement, expand commercial ties and promote cultural and academic exchanges between Iran and Ireland. The Foreign Minister underlined the strategic importance of Iran-Ireland relations and highlighted the potential for cooperation in the economic, agricultural, technological and cultural fields.
Prior to his appointment in Dublin, Mr. Al-Habib held senior positions within Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Ministerial Advisor, Director of the Minister’s Secretariat, Director of Specialized International Affairs, Director of Political and International Affairs, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
