TEHRAN – Brigadier General Kiomars Heydari has been appointed acting commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command, replacing Major General Hossein Hassani.
Before assuming his new post, Heydari served as commander of Iran’s ground forces.
Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi has been appointed as the new commander of the Army’s ground forces, replacing Heydari. Mr. Jahanshahi previously led the 77th Tamen Al Aemmeh Division and held several key positions, including Deputy Coordination of Ground Forces and Deputy Evaluation Officer at Qatam Al Anbiya Central Headquarters.
Major General Ali Abdullahi will continue to serve as the commander-in-chief of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command, which functions as one of the main organs of the Iranian military and is responsible for operational planning and inter-military coordination.
