TEHRAN – The winners of the Rayan 2025 International Artificial Intelligence and Programming Contest, known as the World Finals, were announced here on Friday.
Iranian students showed great performance in both AI and programming sections. In the programming category, Ali Safari took first place. According to a report by ISNA, China secured second and third place, followed by India, Vietnam, Armenia, Serbia and Pakistan respectively.
In the AI category, Iranian teams namely no Trust issues here, Pileh, AI Guardians of Trust, AIUoK, red-serotenin, Persistence and GGWP were ranked from 1st to 7th place.
The final round of the Rayan International Artificial Intelligence and Programming Competition was held on Friday at the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, attracting participants from 25 countries.
Sponsored by the Vice President for Science, Technology and the Knowledge Economy, the event will open on November 25th and will include the United States, Russia, China, India, Italy, Chile, Australia, Armenia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Taiwan, Romania, Singapore, Poland, Slovakia, Vietnam, Serbia, Argentina, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, and host country Iran.
The solo programming section was held on Friday morning, where 60 Iranian and foreign participants worked individually to solve nine complex algorithmic problems within a three- to four-hour time frame.
This scientific competition aimed to promote knowledge, foster international networks, and establish scientific authority in AI and programming.
Other objectives of the competition included strengthening algorithmic thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, developing innovative ideas, starting a new business, and expanding AI engineering and programming.

Iranian students won three gold medals and special awards at the 2025 International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF), ranking them among the world’s top innovators.
Raman Nafariye received a gold medal and a special award in the field of biotechnology. The team consisting of Radin Abbasi and Sam Rashidi won the gold medal in the engineering category. Additionally, Matin Hayati won gold medals in the fields of educational technology and artificial intelligence.
Iranian students continued to prove their excellence in international competitions, winning medals at the Yakut International Science Fair (YISF) and the World Invention and Creation Olympics (WICO).
YISF was held in Yakutsk, Russia from July 6th to 9th. The event attracted 129 teams from 10 countries, participating in two different categories.
The first category included mathematics, computer science, and information technology, and the second category included physics, astronomy, and engineering.
In the second category, Mehran Rajabi and Alireza Jafarnejad were ranked first for their project titled “EcoNet Bin: IoT-enabled AI-driven waste separation.”
“Protecting Curious Little Minds: Smart Child Safety Solutions with IoT and Image Processing” is the name of the project presented by Moeid Rajabi and Helena Rajabi, which won second place.
Artin Radmatin, Baran Bahman, Mohammad-Hossein Ezzati, Niki Abtahi, Sarina Nosrati, and Baran Derakhshandeh won third place for “Assessing the effectiveness of using magnetic gears in improving the performance of mechanical gear-based process systems.”
Additionally, Gina Aminoloaya Carladani won a special award for her project “UVGuard Grooming Brush.”
In the first category, Artin Salari and Amir-Abbas Kavosi Amin took second place for “Smart glasses for visually impaired people with real-time object detection.”
Ilia Majzadeh Helavy and Partsa Karimi Yazdi took third place for their project titled “CommuniMate SmartApp: An innovative solution for communication for the hearing impaired.”
