TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has promoted Saeed Khatibzadeh to the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister and appointed him the new director of the Ministry’s Institute of Political and International Studies (IPIS).
Mr. Khatibzadeh has extensive experience and previously represented Iran as Ambassador to Croatia.
His career includes serving as Director of the Department of Political and International Affairs, as well as other senior positions such as Foreign Affairs Advisor, Deputy Foreign Minister, Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy, and Press Secretary.
IPIS was established in 1983 and is one of Iran’s leading think tanks, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Institute plays a vital role in shaping a nation’s foreign policy through rigorous research and analysis of international situations.
