TEHRAN – Iranian President Maud Pezeschian pays tribute to Pope Francis, who is currently recovering from bronchitis in a Roman hospital.
Pezeshkian said he hopes in X that he is “treated in hospital for respiratory infections and prays to the Almighty for health and quick recovery.”
According to the Holy See See Press Office, Pope Francis was stable, showing slight improvements in the inflammatory index, and even managed to get out of bed for breakfast.
The hospitalization was reported to be dual pneumonia, and the 88-88-year-old Pope was treated at Gemeri Hospital in Rome, including colon surgery in 2021 and previous respiratory infections and abdominal surgery in 2023. This is the time.
Given the Pope’s repeated health issues, his happiness and future leadership, which he has been leading since 2013, is under increasing scrutiny. He previously showed an willingness to resign if his health undermined his ability to fulfill his duties.
