Tehran – Mohammad-Reza Baradaran Motie is an architecture student at the PhD University and received the “Future Climate Leader” award during Oman Climate Week, held from February 24th to 27th.
The event aims to address the urgent need for environmental solutions and discuss global strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change. With over 250 well-known speakers from 60 countries, the weeklong activities included dialogue sessions, workshops and training programs focusing on climate action and sustainability.
Oman Climate Week serves as the best platform for global leaders, policymakers and innovators to showcase their progress, promote collaboration, exchange insights on climate change mitigation, and explore opportunities in Oman and the Mena region.
This initiative encourages young people around the world to present innovative solutions for the challenges of climate change.
The award promotes awareness and innovation in renewable energy, emission reduction and resource management, with categories such as Clean Tech, Sustainable Agriculture, and Smart Cities. Winners will receive financial awards and opportunities to carry out projects with global sustainability partners. Compete with students to solve the world’s most severe climate change challenges.

Hosna Salimi, a student in the Faculty of World Studies at Tehran University, was selected as the “Young Researcher” at the BRICS and SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGIANCE ORGAINCE ONGY Young Leaders Award 2025, held from January 24-26 in Kazan, Russia.
More than 400 participants from 13 countries, including Iran, India, China, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Brazil, Ethiopia, Tajikistan and Russia, competed against each other.
The ju judge selected 10 winners with five nominations, including “Media Influencer of the Year,” “Social Entertainer of the Year,” “The Best Public Project of the Year,” “Researchers of the Year,” and “Eco Innity of the Year.”
The candidate for the “Young Researcher of the Year” nomination is the author of scientific research in the fields of history, education, arts, information technology (IT), law, philosophy and finance.
In November 2024, students from the Iranian University of Science and Technology took first place in the 2024 Federal Federation of Eurasia International Robosport Association (FIRA) Open Competition.
The competition took place in Turkey’s vans from November 6th to 9th, bringing together 130 teams from eight countries.
The Iranian team consisted of Alireza Abbasi, Mobina Lashgari, Alireza Mikaeili and Shayan Ansarian. They were first ranked for innovation and entrepreneurship to design “infrasheet drones.”
Iran won five gold medals and two special awards at the International Science Invention Fair (ISIF) 2024 held in Indonesia from 5th to 10th November 2024.
The competition brought together 1,980 teams from 24 competing countries in eight areas: technology engineering, chemistry and nanotechnology, biotechnology and environment, energy engineering, physics and astronomy, artificial intelligence and technology, social sciences, education and educational technology.
A total of 18 students from Iran participated in the 47th World Skills competition, winning nine medals, including silver medals and medallions.
The competition took place in Lyon, France from September 10th to 15th, 2024. Approximately 1,500 competitors from over 65 countries and regions around the world gathered in Lyon to compete in a variety of skills.

Iran won gold, two silver and bronze medals at the 36th International Olympics (IOI), ranking ninth in 96 countries.
Iranian students took part in the event online and ranked 9th in the world.
