TEHRAN – Iran’s Minister of Justice and International Affairs, Qasem Galibabadi visited Qatar where he engaged in discussions with Qatar officials to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
In a post on Monday in X, Galibabadi announced that he met with Minister for International Cooperation in Qatar, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdullaziz bin bin Sale al-Kurai during his day trip to Doha.
According to Iranian diplomats, the conference focused on strengthening Iran-Qatar relations, addressing shared concerns and identifying opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that both sides expressed their commitment to deepen relations between different sectors.
During his visit, Galibabadi also toured Qatar’s National Human Rights Commission, where he had discussions with the chairman. The two agreed on the importance of cooperation between Iran and Qatar’s human rights systems, focusing on the exchange of experience and best practices.
Iran and Qatar have maintained close economic and political ties, particularly since 2017, when Tehran expanded full support to Doha following the lockdown imposed by several Arab countries. In addition to their strong diplomatic relations, Qatar has played an important mediator in regional issues, including regional issues, including Iran.
According to a recent report, Tehran and Doha are working to expand trade volumes, aiming to reach $1 billion a year. The latest diplomatic engagement demonstrates the continued commitment from both countries to deepen their strategic partnerships.
