Tehran – Hamas has agreed to release Israeli prisoners of war, which have acquired US citizenship, but the “major gap” remains in the Israeli regime in Phase 2 of the ceasefire.
The Palestinian leaders said there remains a major gap between the proposals made by Hamas and the Israeli regime and how to implement the second phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
An unnamed resistance leader explained that the Israeli occupation regime is calling for the release of around 10 living prisoners before negotiations begin in the second phase of the agreement.
Hamas argues that there must be clear and solid guarantees to ensure negotiations are commenced before agreeing to release prisoners in the second stage.
The Resistance Group has identified the need for a robust commitment to the next stage of consultation to avoid delays and set-offs during the process.
The negotiations also made clear that the siege must be lifted and humanitarian assistance to Gaza must be banned.
Human rights groups accusing them of using hunger as a weapon against the Gazan population of 2.3 million and pressureing them to abandon their resistance.
A senior Hosam Badran official reaffirmed Hamas’ commitment to maintaining the ceasefire contract.
He said on Saturday that “Palestinians will not be able to commit themselves to their lands and not abandon their homelands, regardless of the stance taken by US President Donald Trump.”
Badran emphasized that “the Palestinian people will remain the protective shield of the Al Aqsa Mosque from work attacks and attempts to change their identity”
He said, “We are committed to implementing a ceasefire agreement at every stage, and violations by occupation will bring us back to the square.”
Badran also stressed that Hamas had urged mediators to urge the Israeli regime to comply with the ceasefire agreement, halt violations and fully implement all agreed terms.
He welcomed suggestions that would help ensure the success of the ceasefire contract, as long as it also protects Palestinian rights.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Hamas confirmed on Thursday that it had received a mediation proposal to resume ceasefire talks and prisoner exchange contracts.
The report says the move responded proactively and responsibly to the proposal, which is described as a “separate talk.”
On Friday, Hamas agreed to release Israeli soldier Aidan Alexander along with the bodies of four other double nationals.
The Resistance Movement once again reiterated its willingness to negotiate and reach a comprehensive agreement on phase two issues, urging the Israeli occupation regime to fully meet its obligations.
The Resistance Front added that it submitted its response on Friday, confirming the agreement to release Israeli soldier Aidan Alexander.
According to Hamas, US, Egyptian and Qatar mediators will take the necessary steps to ensure the completion of negotiations and achieve a comprehensive deal, including a ceasefire and Israeli military withdrawal.
Experts argue that the Israeli regime threatened to resume the war with Gaza, but it is unlikely that they will succeed in confronting the resistance fighters.
They point out that the Israeli army supported by US weapons was supported by tens of millions of dollars songs, unable to defeat it during the 16-month war of genocide, and suffered major losses in the process.
