Al-Monitor reported that tens of thousands of people have demonstrated in the Moroccan capital on Sunday, when Israel opposes the conflict in the Gaza Strip, where Israel attacked anti-Hama after a two-month ceasefire.
For months, the largest pro-Palestinian protest in the capital Rabat was invoked by the Justice and Development Party, the Muslim-dominated coalition.
Protesters were accompanied by chanting and drumming as they marched through Mohammed v Avenue in the city near the council.
They waved a flag containing one that carries the image of Martian Chief Hamas Yahya Singwar.
The children carried white shrouds stained in red to represent the thousands of young victims killed in Palestinian territory over the course of a year and a half.
Israeli forces resumed their attacks in Gaza on March 18th, and since then, more than 1,330 people have been killed on the territory, according to Hamasran Territory’s Ministry of Health.
On Sunday, protesters chanted the slogans that included “People want the liberation of Palestine!”, calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow siege and assistance in Gaza.
It was also sought to have the Morocco-Israel ties reestablished under the US-brokered Abraham Accord in 2020, and protesters called such ties “treason.”
Rabat has officially called for an immediate and lasting halt of the war in Gaza, without mentioning the country’s relations with Israel.
