China has pledged to take “decisive and effective measures” to protect its rights and interests. This comes hours after President Donald Trump’s 104% tariffs came into effect Wednesday.
“The US is still imposes arbitrary tariffs on China and is mercilessly applying extreme pressure. China is firmly opposed to this and will never accept such dominant and bullying behavior.”
China and the US are involved in the tough Tatt match of trade, facing each new tariff introduced by Washington, and Beijing stands firmly.
After the latest round began on Wednesday, Lynn told the media that if they really want to resolve the trade war through dialogue, the US needs to “show an attitude of equality, respect and mutual interest.”
“If the US insists on ignoring the interests of both countries and the international community and engaging in a tariff and trade war, China will fight to the end,” Lin added.
US taxes on Chinese imports were set to increase 34% on Wednesday as part of Trump’s “mutual” tariff package. However, the president regained another 50% after Beijing did not retreat its promise to impose a 34% retaliation tariff on US goods by noon Tuesday.
Before the latest round of escalation, Trump had already levied a 20% tax on China since returning to the White House.
