Yemen’s Ministry of Health has announced that US airstrikes that have been ongoing nationwide since mid-March have resulted in 338 civilian casualties, including women and children.
According to Anis Al Asbahi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, 117 people have been killed and 221 have been injured in the strike, particularly since March 16th.
Al Asbahi spoke to Al Mayaden, condemning the attack and highlighting the human damage to Yemeni civilians.
This comes shortly after US fighters launched a series of airstrikes in central and northern Yemen late on Saturday to meet the goals of the governors of Al Baida and Sada.
In another attack, three US airstrikes targeted the Al Salem area of the Al Salem district of the Kitavu district, located east of Governor Sada. The area is located near Yemen’s Northern Frontier, a region that is frequently targeted in ongoing US invasions.
In March, the US launched a military campaign against Yemen, justifying the attack as a necessary move to protect international shipping lanes. However, the escalation of airstrikes coincides with Yemen’s new military operations in solidarity with the Palestinians. The country’s leaders have vowed to continue targeting Israel’s interests and position until the end of the devastating war with Gaza.
