Tehran – The Hizaldav Festival is scheduled to be held in Palangan village, Kordestan province in late April, the director of the province’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Bureau said.
Mansour Mehrzad told Isna this year might be the last chance that Palangan could register on the world’s best tourist village list.
The Iranian Association of Architects named it Kordestan this year to introduce more of the western province.
He explained that nearly 300 hectares of Sanandage textures are the historic type. He added that Bijar and Saqqez are also considered historic sites.
This shows that Cordestan is valuable in terms of architecture and historical texture, he said. Today, the state has become a tourist destination, he added.
Fortunately, 12 million tourists visited Kordestan in past Iranian years (ends on March 20, 2025). Additionally, nearly 534,000 tourists visited the state from March 15th to April 4th, showing an increase of 18% from the previous year.
He brought the number of foreign tourists to 44,734.
He currently boasts 6,000 residential beds for tourists, but this cannot accommodate all the needs of guests.
“We have increased the capacity of residential beds to 41,000 with the help of formal and informal ecotourism sites.”
Mehrzad noted that six tangible and intangible heritage sites in Kordestan have been listed on the national heritage list this year.
He said Backgammon is on the national heritage list. “We proposed backgammon for national registration in 2011. Backgammon geography was entitled in 2016 under the name of Cordestan.”
The ancient melodies echoes resonated in Parangan, one of the oldest villages in Cordestan, enriched the spirits of thousands of fellow nations.
In April 2024, the historic village of Palangan, listed on the world’s best tourist village list, hosted around 50,000 tourists and tourists from all over Iran.
The Hezar-Daf Festival, which means 1,000 drums in Persian, was organized with the presence of state officials and media groups.
The first Hizal Duff Festival in Palangan was held on the trees several years ago, and the cultural ceremony, serving as a spiritual and cultural heritage, takes place on the Friday of the last month of the first month of the Persian calendar, with the participation of various drumming and art groups in the tourist village.
Celebrated annually with a certain grandeur and attended by tourists both inside and outside the state, Hezar-Daf is one of the most beautiful customs of this historic village.
