Ammar Hakim, leader of the Iraqi People’s Wisdom Movement, stressed that Iraq will benefit significantly from ongoing consultations between Iran and the United States. He pointed out that Iran is a nearby Muslim country where Iraq shares large cultural, economic and social ties.
Speaking at the Suleimaniya International Conference, Hakim highlighted the pivotal role the United States played in dismantling Iraq’s dictatorship and helping citizens build democratic political frameworks. He reiterated Iraq’s commitment to fostering relationships that promote common interests and sustainable development with other countries.
Hakim recalled that his late uncle, Said Abdul Aziz Hakim, is known to be influenced as “the “love of Iraq.” He was a pioneer in defending Iran-US dialogue in 2007. The Iraqi clergy argued that it suggested that Iraq would like this popular dialogue. Iraq itself.
He concluded by stating that dialogue remains the only viable option, as alternative pathways cost a significant amount of money.
