Tehran – American fighters stormed the city of Hodeida in Yemen’s port, killing civilian scores.
The US fighters launched airstrikes at RAS ISA oil ports in Hodeidah, followed by a second attack that was attacked when the emergency crew fought the fire and recovered the casualties.
At least 58 civilians, including truck drivers, workers and paramedics, were killed, while at least 126 were injured in a strike at a port in northwest Yemen, according to a preliminary report from the Hodeida State Health Department.
It added that a second airstrike killed paramedics who had been present at the victims since the first attack.
In response, the Sanaa government reaffirmed “Yemen’s legal right to protect itself” and took the US administration fully responsible for the outcome of military escalations in the Red Sea.
The government said its support operations in Gaza would continue, saying it was “100% successful in preventing Israeli ships from sailing through the Red Sea.”
He also condemned US statements justifying the attacks, calling them “false and misleading.” The Sana government said the strike once again proved that “the American enemy is intentionally targeting civilian regions and important national infrastructure.”
Sana officials labeled the bombing of Ras Isa as a “full war crime” and warned it would not be punished.
Shortly after the attack, missile sirens rang in parts of Tel Aviv and parts of central Israeli regions, amid warnings at the entrance to projectiles from Yemen.
Also, there were large gatherings of several Yemeni governors later on Friday afternoon in support of Gaza.
On Thursday night, Ansalala leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi said, “Our people, despite their suffering, have not cling to weak excuses or shallow justifications. Instead, they are standing up to fulfill their obligations of faith and resistance, and to infuriate both the enemy of America and Israel.”
In his TV speech, Sayeed Al-Houthi emphasized that “Yemeni front is strong, inspiring and stands as a powerful example for others to follow.”
Speaking about the impact of Yemeni operations, he pointed out “clear consequences recognized even by American and Israeli officials.”
Addressing the US directly, Al-Houthi declared, “Your attacks will only strengthen us, sharpen our military capabilities and increase our effectiveness.”
Experts believe the strike against Hodeida’s oil facility is aimed at turning the media’s focus into a massive fire, but they say it will rarely undermine Yemen’s ability to maintain a military support front in solidarity with Gaza.
Other analysts pointed out that this is not the first time we and the Israeli military have targeted Hodeida’s oil infrastructure.
