TEHRAN – Consulates in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Afghanistan visited the ecotourism site and the Radkan Historical Tower in Chenaran County, Kholasan Razabi province, said the head of Chenaran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism.
Mohammad Tahelian Mukhadam told Isna that Radkan Tower is considered one of the most unique historic places in the country.

He continued that the mountains surrounding the city and the green valley create appropriate opportunities for activities such as mountain climbing, hiking and ecotourism.
Given the tourism potential of Chenaran, he said there is a need to develop tourism infrastructure, such as hotels, restaurants and entertainment centres. Investing in the sector will help attract more tourists, he added.

Foreign tourists, including Germany, Italy, Belgium, Iraq and China, are familiar with local customs and traditions, not only visiting the county’s historic charms, but also by staying overnight at an eco-orism accommodation in local customs and traditions, especially local cuisine, music and crafts, he continued.
Taherian-Muqaddam shed more light on the carried out restoration and renovation projects of the historical structures within the early county.
“In Chenaran’s well-running attractions, we can mention Radkan Tower, the historic baths and mosques of Radkan city,” he revealed. “The village of Ecotourism, the village of Akramd and the village at the foot of the mountains.”
Chenaran County is located 50 km from the sacred city of Mashhad.
The Radkan Historical Tower, also known as the Radkan Citadel, is a prominent historic landmark in Chenaran County, Kolasan Razabi Province.
The tower is thought to date back to the Ilhonid period (A.S. 1256-1353), and served a variety of purposes throughout history, including defensive fortresses, observation decks and possibly astronomy centres.
Built using traditional methods and local materials, the tower features a unique architectural style featuring sturdy mud brick walls, intricate geometric designs, and strategic arrangement of windows and openings for ventilation and light.
