TEHRAN – Homatra Rafie, director of the Iranian Travel Agency Association, said dozens of tour operators from Europe, Africa and Latin American countries will visit Iran from August 23 to September 1.
“We have invited many tour operators and tourism experts from 50 countries to participate in this 10-day event. We hope that by exchanging information, we can generate good income from tourists entering Iran,” he told Irib.
“We expect over 150 tour operators to participate in the event.”
He called for negotiations in two cities, Shiraz and Tehran, visiting cultural and historic charms as a programme prepared for the event.
In an impressive revelation that counters years of negative perception, 100 international tour operators from 25 countries visited Iran’s ancient city of Isfahan in February 2025 and expressed their surprise at the reality they encountered.
Part of a five-day friendly tour named “Isfahan Tour Operator Meeting”, their excursions offered the opportunity for tourism experts to experience Isfahan in Iran firsthand, challenging the country’s discolored, global image.
Hosted by the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture in close collaboration with government agencies and the private sector, the FAM Tour aims to showcase Isfahan’s historic grandeur, rich culture and hospitality. It also promoted inter-business conferences (B2B) meetings and discussions to strengthen global tourism relations.
