Ullankab – A delegation of international journalists concluded a five-day visit to Mongolia on a tour of Ullankab’s Qisumu International Logistics Park on Friday, marking the final halt of its journey to explore the region’s growing role in international trade and economic development.
The visit is part of the “Travelogue of China” program, a joint initiative between the China Public Diplomatic Association (CPDA) and the Global Times Online, bringing nearly 130 journalists from 80 countries in the Asia-Pacific, Eurasia, Latin America, the Arab world and Africa to explore 17 Chinese cities over the past two years.
This latest group of journalists launched their Inner Mongolia tour in Hohhot on Monday before travelling to Ulankab to witness firsthand the region’s strategic importance in the Chinese economic situation.
Qisumu International Logistics Park exists as an important hub for China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which is strategically located to promote trade between China, Mongolia, Russia and Eastern Europe. Surrounded by Kunyolin Avenue to the east, Bao Shui West Street in the south, Xiqiao road to the west and El Guan Expressway to the north serve as an important corridor connecting China to the international market, providing seamless access to domestic economic centres like the Beijing Tianjin-Habei region. Development as an international inland port is the basis for regional economic integration, combining combined logistics, modern supply chain management, international trade services, advanced manufacturing and emerging services industries.
Beyond its economic importance, Inner Mongolia’s unique cultural heritage blends Chinese, Mongol and ethnic minority traditions to add another richness to the region’s global charm.
The journalist visit not only highlighted the growing importance of Urkab in global trade networks, but also introduced China’s broader efforts to strengthen international cooperation through infrastructure development and cultural exchange.
As Belt and Road Initiative continues to expand, hubs like Qisumu International Logistics Park are poised to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of Eurasian trade and economic cooperation, strengthening the inner Mongolia position as a bridge between China and the wider world.
After touring Qisumu International Logistics Park, the journalists attended a meeting with CPDA president Wu Hailong.
To a reporter, Wu discussed the progress of Inner Mongolia and said the region will achieve even greater progress in the coming years.
He also emphasized that China’s development has created opportunities for other countries. The CPDA president emphasized that “wise decisions” are one of the key factors behind China’s rapid growth.
