TEHRAN – Iran’s Deputy Tourism Minister has called for the fight against Iranian phobia and giving the country a true image as he mentioned the recent vote that the Islamic Republic has acquired for membership in the UN Tourism Administrative Council.
Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpei spoke about tourism policy during a webinar with Greek candidate Harry Theoharis, the new executive director of the United Nations Cultural Organization, the IRNA reported.
He presented a perspective and perspective on Iran’s international relations.
Referring to the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Greece, he called the programmes offered by Theoharis as surprising.
He emphasized the attention of UN tourism by paying attention to the launch of data and statistics centres, promoting marketing, the success of the global model, and the achievement of a Muslim nation, particularly in halal food and pilgrimage.
Mohseni-Bandpei pointed out that the current approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to promote tourism diplomacy and have a positive presence at international events.
He called and introduced Iran’s diverse tourism potential as one of his main priorities.
Welcoming the Greek candidate’s “thinking and acting regionally globally” approach, he emphasized promoting regional management in the structure of UN tourism.
“The future role of the Executive Director in the fight against Iranphobia and the introduction of true Iran is a central issue to build a balance of the global narrative of the country’s tourism potential.”
He visited Theoharis to Iran and saw the safety, security, calmness and diversity of the country’s potential and conveyed its encouraging message to the world.
It is worth noting that Zurab Pololikashvili, the current UN Secretary-General of Tourism, will be staying until the end of 2025.
