In response to the EU’s decision to begin reviewing Israel’s compliance with obligations under international law under the EU and the Israeli Association Agreement, Eve Gedi said, Amnesty International’s Directorate of the European Organizations: Disclaimer.
“Encouraged by the EU’s inaction and supported by several EU states – Israeli leaders are showing off the purpose of their genocide. The EU’s informal reconciliation policy against Israel is in opposition to its member states’ duties and will be reviewed forever in the dates of history.
“There is no time to lose. All delays cost lives in Gaza. The EU and its member states must ban trade and investments that may contribute to the genocide committees and other serious violations of international law.
“The EU must suspend all trade with Israeli settlements, but member states transferring arms to Israel must suspend such transfers, which is important for EU member states to prevent genocide and meet their responsibility to avoid its conspiracy.
“The interests are too high. If the EU does not adhere to these obligations as a bloc and attempts to protect them from clear legal obligations, its member states must unilaterally suspend any form of cooperation that could contribute to a violation of international law.
