The Yemeni Army (YAF) announced Thursday it had launched a missile strike targeting Ben Gurion Airport, east of Tel Aviv.
YAF spokesman Brigadier Yahya Saree said the missile used in the operation was a Palestine-2 polar ballistic missile, marking the 46th Yemeni missile that was fired on Israeli targets since the renewal of Israeli attacks in Gaza. Surry confirmed that the attacks had achieved a pre-set objective of forcing air traffic closures at the airport and fleeing millions of settlers to bombardment.
“This operation has been a victory for the oppressed Palestinians and their resistance fighters, in response to the crimes of Zionist enemies in Gaza and the attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut,” declared Sally in a broadcast statement.
Surrey’s statement is packed with expressions of solidarity with Gaza as Israel’s military campaign and aid silence policy are in operation.
“The Yemeni people, their loyal leadership and their combat forces are standing with you… until the attack stops and the siege rises,” Sally said.
He expanded his salute to the families of martyrs, wounded and prisoners in Gaza, describing the besieged enclave as “the frontline of dignity and honor of the entire Islamic State.”
The YAF operation coincided with “Israel” and claimed it had launched a series of airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, hitting drone production sites in highly populated residential areas. Lebanon President Joseph Orn and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam have accused Israeli attacks (timed on the eve of Eid al-Ada) of urging international action.
Since November 2023, YAF has maintained an active role in supporting Palestine and Lebanon, launching dozens of long-range drones and missile strikes against Israeli military and commercial assets.
This operation shows the continuation of Yemen’s strategic shift. From the Red Sea maritime engagement, it shows a continuation of attacks on deeper attacks within occupied Palestine after the US forced it to halt its invasion of the country itself.
