President Donald Trump says his relationship with Elon Musk has ended.
“You’d think so,” Trump told NBC News on Saturday. When asked if he wanted to repair the damaged tie, he replied “No.”
The comments were Trump’s latest since the epic fallout between him and Musk was unraveled on social media.
It came after a tech billionaire who has donated millions to Trump’s campaign and became White House aides. He publicly criticised the president’s tax and expenditure bill, a major domestic policy.
The majority of Republicans line up behind the president. Vice-President JD Vance said Musk may never be replied with “at the core.”
Vance told podcaster Theo Fon that it was a “big mistake” for Tesla and SpaceX CEOs to attack the president.
For weeks, Musk was criticising Trump’s signature law, known as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” as he walked through Congress.
