Tucker Carlson put Senator Ted Cruz in a hot seat during a fierce grill over the senator’s knowledge of several important facts about Iran.
“The Tucker Carlson Show” an exchange broke out during an interview with Cruz Tuesday evening.
Tensions have been erupting between Iran and the United States since Israel launched an attack on Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure on Friday, revealing that the US is involved when President Donald Trump posted on social media on Tuesday.
“By the way, how many people do Iran live?” asks the former Fox News host.
“I have no idea about the population,” replies Cruz.
“Do you know the population you are about to defeat?” Carlson Press.
Cruz then fought back, asking Carlson if the hosts knew Iran’s statistics, adding that he hadn’t spent time “memorizing the population table.”
After the clip surfaced, Cruz “screamed” and “screamed” for releasing “snippets playing “gotcha” about the Iranian population.” The Texas senator added, “I refused to play that stupid game,” and accused Carlson of attacking President Trump.
Meanwhile, several CBS News Trumps have joined Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the Ford nuclear site underground in Tehran.
Despite the pushback, Carlson continued to sue his case.
“For 90 million people, 80 million people, or 100 million people, why is it related, why is it related?” Cruz asks Carlson. Meanwhile, the video shows hundreds of people trying to escape from Iran have begun to surface on social media following Trump’s evacuation warning.
“Okay, what is the ethnic mix of Iran?” Carlson asks.
“They are Persians, mostly Shiites,” he says before Carlson inserts, “You know nothing about Iran!”
