TEHRAN – The former commander of the IRGC navy and military strategist says that no matter what the country is, Iran can be defeated.
On Wednesday, June 25th, writing an article about Israel’s 12-day war with Iran, later joined by the United States, and Hossein Alaei said, “This war showed that foreign forces could not defeat Iran.”
Israel stated a surprise and illegal war with Iran on June 13, killing many top Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians, and attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The Israeli war with Iran was in full cooperation with the United States. On June 23, the United States entered the war directly with Iran by bombarding Iran’s nuclear facilities in Ford, Natanz and Isfahan. The US used B-2 bombers to launch Iran’s nuclear sites.
Faced with Iran’s retaliatory and legitimate response, they called for a ceasefire early on Tuesday, June 24th.
“The failure of this strategy showed that bullying and military pressure on Iran was in vain.”
Below is the text of his article published in the Iranian newspaper on June 4th.
The 12-day US war on Israel and Iran appears to be coming to an end. The goal of Israel and the United States was to overthrow the Islamic Republic, create a rift between the people and the government, and create fragments of Iran.
In the war imposed, the Zionist regime, with the help of the United States, sought to undermine Iran’s military capabilities through the assassination of IRGC commanders and extensive attacks on nuclear and defense facilities. They aimed to bring people onto the streets with the promise of a change of government. But contrary to their expectations, Iranian people of all ethnic groups and faith are united in an unparalleled manner against invasion, indicating that the Iranian country is unprecedented.
By relying on the military capabilities of its indigenous peoples, Iran was able to resist the world’s largest nuclear forces: the United States and Israel. Iran’s missile attacks on US Air Force Bases in Qatar stand as a clear example of its severity in maintaining Iran’s defenses and territorial integrity.
The US’s direct involvement in the war revealed its intention to forcefully resolve nuclear issues and negotiations, but the failure of this strategy showed that bullying and military pressure on Iran was in vain.
Thus, Israel, which aimed to overthrow and impose its policies through war, failed to achieve this goal, not only did it turn Iranian hostility towards itself. Furthermore, no fragmentation of Iran occurred. Instead, national unity was strengthened.
Today, postwar authorities are expected to weaken cohesion, eliminate factors that strengthen the general cultural, religious and national pillars, and maintain established unity. Fundamental changes in economic and social fields are essential to the sustainability of this unity.
The 12-day war reminds us of the historical resistance of the Iranian people during the eight-year imposed war (Iraq’s war against Iraq in the 1980s). The war demonstrated that foreign forces could not defeat Iran, demonstrating that diplomacy is the only way to create security and peace in the region.
